Chris Pirillo has reviewed this week our Infinite Storage service MyBloop.com very positively, and he has called it “The World’s Biggest Hard Drive.

Christopher “Chris” Joseph Pirillo (born July 26, 1973(1973-07-26)) is the founder and maintainer of Lockergnome which is a large blogging network. He spent two years hosting the TechTV television program Call for Help before parting ways with the show. He also hosted the first annual Call-for-Help-a-Thon on TechTV. He now hosts videos on several internet sites, including CNN.com, YouTube and his own website.

Chris Pirillo live streams from his home-office using Ustream technology and uses this to create YouTube videos daily with a focus on software, computers, iPhone applications, and other technology-related topics and events.

Chris Pirillo is also an avid blogger, combining his website which contains over 1,500 posts, and updating his micro-blogging accounts, such as Twitter and FriendFeed daily.

Every year, Pirillo hosts Gnomedex, a technology conference tailored to technology and blogging enthusiasts.

To install you need admin permissions. If you want to install this file from a console type:


sudo dpkg -i blooploader.i586.deb

On this first release, we’ve introduced what I call an “Action Toolbar” on the Picture page.

Currently it has basic actions, for any visitor on the site. On further upgrades functionality for signed members and picture owners will be included to have everything conveniently (without clutter) in one place.

Also we’ve fixed navigation to be easier on the eye, you’ll notice the alignment of the “Previous” and “Next” icons below the thumbs on the upper right, also we’ve added a “Browse” (folder) link there if there’s more than one picture on the folder that contains the picture you’re currently watching.

Now, if there’s more pictures, clicking on the current picture will take you to the next picture in the folder. If you reach the end, clicking will take you back one picture in the other direction. Thanks Fernando from Venezuela for this suggestion. This in turned made us put a “Full Size” action button on the toolbar, which now appears only if the picture has been sized down for the display purposes on the picture page.

The screen you see if my development machine, just wanted to share with you the excitement of seeing the upload code show starting to behave as a release quality code after a long time of tweaks and tuning.

The song in the background is Pendulum – Still Grey, one of my favorites in moments of concentration.

MyBloop aims to be a one-stop shop for all your file hosting and sharing needs. I must say, they do a pretty fine job. Since I started using their service, I’ve begun to rely on them more and more. I only hope that they withstand the test of time.

A Blog about Legal Downloads has been using MyBloop.com to store Creative Commons music for download, and they’ve also used the MyBloop.com Embedded Audio Player to let their readers try the music before downloading it.
